Springs

dry ground.
A disciple-making ministry based in Oxford — activating believers to multiply, and helping seekers discover who Jesus is.
Europe was once the heartland of the faith — today it holds the lowest proportion of Christians of any continent.
We long to see a fresh experience of the Spirit of God well up again. Chartwell — ancient English for “a spring rising in dry ground.”
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Every disciple of Jesus is called to make disciples. We help that happen on two fronts at once: stirring believers to multiply, and walking with those still discovering who Jesus is.
Discover Jesus
We help those who don't yet believe discover who Jesus is — and then be activated to make disciples themselves. Seekers don't just become followers; they become sent ones.
- → Honest spaces to encounter Jesus
- → From seeker to disciple to disciple-maker
- → Activated, not just informed
Discover disciple making
We help existing believers discover how to make disciples — and then multiply. Not another programme, but a way of life passed hand to hand, household to household, until movements take root.
- → Equipping believers to disciple others
- → Multiplying simple, reproducible practices
- → Seeing disciple-making movements emerge
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

A spring rising in dry ground.
Chartwell Ministries is a disciple-making ministry based in Oxford, UK, operating across Europe — activating disciples of Jesus in Oxford and around the world.
The meaning of the name
“Chartwell” is ancient English for a spring rising in dry ground. Europe was once the heartland of the faith but has drifted from its Judeo-Christian foundations, and now has the lowest proportion of Christians of any continent.
We long to see spiritual vitality — a fresh experience of the Spirit of God — well up again, from Oxford to the ends of Europe. But springs still rise in dry ground.
Activating disciple makers — two ways.
Discover & multiply

Discover Jesus
Helping non-believers discover who Jesus is, then be activated to make disciples themselves.
